Vehicle Dynamics
Before engines, I loved studying and tinkering with vehicle dynamics, mainly because it was so cheap to do. It does not cost anything to change the camber and toe on your car, but the effect it has on the handling and feel is drastic. It became an easy way to actually experiment with subjects I was studying that included vehicle dynamics and car setup. So much so that, after finding the limits of my 2010 Honda Accord front suspension, I redesigned the front end to have the motion I was wanting out of it. This was all in the pursuit of "what if" rather than actual practicality, but remains a core interest of mine and can go hand in hand with drivetrains to develop vehicle performance metrics.
